Philippe Brame, photographer

Creation is not an idea, it is an action that depends on our dependency on Mystery and on the vision that it sometimes offers. In my photographs, I try to capture as much of this vision as possible. It boils down to not capturing the emotion as much as the energy that precedes it, a sort of intensity emerging from the silence that engenders the identity of the subject. I try to trigger a view  within the changes in time, as close to the present moment as possible, between two instants when the unspoken is still breathing, while the first visible drops are transpiring. Photography at this level can be compared to either giving birth or an abortion, depending on the quality of the movement that animates both the person who sees and the one who is seen.
